Orders Table
Intro
The Orders Table allows you to track SIM and eSIM cards from the time they are ordered (via the website, mobile apps, or other sources) to the time they are used.
The system administrator manages the delivery process after a subscriber orders one or more cards and has information about the order details, like payment information, parcel tracking number, ICCID, eSIM QR-code, and so on.
The administrator can, if necessary, refund the subscriber as well as return the card to the virtual warehouse. Information about the data package that is valid for this card is also available.
How the system works
SIM-card orders
- The Orders Table retrieves information about the SIM from the SIMINVENTORY at the time of purchase, marks it as sold, and sends a notification letter with the order details to the ordering subscriber.
- The Order Manager receives the appropriate notification from the Orders Table.
- The Orders Manager creates a shipment and enters the necessary information in the Orders Table, such as the date of shipment, shipment number, and so on.
- If necessary, and provided that the card has not yet been shipped, the Order Manager can issue a refund to the subscriber, cancel the order, and return the card to the warehouse.
eSIM orders
- The Orders Table retrieves information about the eSIM from the SIMINVENTORY at the time of ordering, marks it as sold, and sends the ordering subscriber a notification e-mail with the eSIM installation instructions and a QR code.
- If the eSIM is ordered through a mobile app and the iOS or Android eSIM API is used to install the card on the phone rather than the QR code, the system also marks the card as sold.
- The order manager can retrieve the card's details at any time, just like the details of cards ordered in the traditional manner. This feature can be used in the following scenarios:
- The subscriber placed the order but did not use the application's automatic installation of eSIM and also lost the notification letter containing the eSIM settings and QR code. When a subscriber contacts technical support, the order manager can resend a letter with eSIM settings to the subscriber.
- The subscriber either removed the eSIM from the phone's settings or reset the phone to factory settings, which removed all installed eSIMs. If the subscriber uses the same phone as when the eSIM was first installed, the Order Manager may send the subscriber a letter with the eSIM settings again. It's important to remember that reinstalling an eSIM that was previously installed on another phone is impossible: the card's ICCID is tied to the phone's IMEI during the initial installation and cannot be unbound.
Network registration scenarios
Changes to subscriber data at his request (name, mailing address), changes related to sending a SIM card, and refunds are the most common order editing cases.
